Acer Aspire S7 stuck in sleep mode

Greetings All.

Tipping a nod to Eister who is also having this issue with an Aspire 5534.

See this thread

I am building Acer Aspire S7 with a Windows 10 image and they have all been exhibiting this behaviour.

If left unattended they go in to sleep mode and there is no way to gain access again except by performing a hard reset. Not good if you didn't save your work.

It seems there is a change in the way Windows 10 behaves in sleep mode as we have seen a similar issue in Travelmate P645 models where, once in sleep mode, the Keyboard will not bring the device out of sleep.

Only clicking the mouse (or touchpad) and moving the mouse (or your finger on the touchpad) will allow you to access the login screen. Performing some Google-Fu has shown a lot of Windows 10 users having this experience regardless of the hardware on which it is running.

However, for the Acer Aspire S7 (and The Aspire 5534) it would seem there is a different issue.

We have various BIOS versions on the S7 devices so am unable to determine if that might be a cause.

I'd like to try and download the latest BIOS (once the Driver downloads service is back up), to see if that resolves things.

Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution please?

Regards

David
