Recovery CD fails. UEFI/ legacy BIOS problem

I had a system crash on my Acer Aspire XC600 with Windows 8.1 installed. It was impossible to use Acer recovery management. I installed Ubuntu. Later I got the Acer recovery CD's. It was impossible to start from CD. I tried to remove Ubuntu, but unsuccessfully. Now Ubuntu does not start anymore. When booting from CD, I get the following error:

Pleas boot this recovery disk using legacy BIOS mode. I tried that. After trying again I got this error:

Restore Fail: This recovery system can only be used on "UEFI" mode. Please press "OK" to restart system immediately.

I read that the solution would be to wipe the HDD, but I don't have a OS to do it with. How can I

if you still have the Ubuntu installation CD, boot from that and choose to try it Live, instead of installing, once booted run disk manager and completly wipe your HDD, must be with unallocated raw space.

Then try again with the recovery cd.

If it gives errors again, you must check if the HDD has GPT boot record instead of MBR.
