    first of all.

is your BIOS set as UEFI?

perss F2 at boot and check it, if not, set as UEFI and try to boot from recovery disks again.

please don't PM me, reply here.

what do you mean, you don't have BIOS?

are you not able to enter BIOS pressing F2 at boot?

one thing i don't understand, did you changed the HDD or you still had the original?

if you have the original, have you tried to press ALT+F10 at boot?

are you able to enter recovery pressing those 2 keys?

if not, plese try to create a windows 8.1 bootable media:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

don't use it to install windows 8.1

use it only to boot from it using DVD or USB flash drive and check if you are able to enter Repair PC-troubleshoot-advanced options-UEFI firmware

I have a new Hard Drive, installed, so if I can change the boot in BIOS then I should be able to install the windows with the system disk that came with the recovery disk?

if you are able to enter BIOS and set BIOS to UEFI, recovery disk will work.

if after UEFI change the recovery disk tells you to select legacy, you need to wipe the HDD.

    Please....read it again:

if not, please try to create a windows 8.1 bootable media:

    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

don't use it to install windows 8.1

use it only to boot from it using DVD or USB flash drive and check if you are able to enter Repair PC-troubleshoot-advanced options-UEFI firmware

by the way BIOS normally is accessible even without any OS or HDD.

ok I will try it again but that UEFl Bios will not let me get to the regular BIOS, it is a shell that is sitting on top of the partation drive...or something is stopping me from getting in to open it up tp resset the BIOS to UEFl to use the recovery disk.........!!
