v3-571 turbo boost not working

Hello,

I have Acer Aspire v3-571 laptop. I upgraded my CPU from i3-2310m to i7-2630qm. In fact everythig works fine except turbo boost. It should boost to 2.9Ghz sometimes...

In fact, I have installed Turbo Boost_Intel_8.0.0.1262_W7x64_A driver for it. However, I am unable to install turbo boost monitor (Turbo Boost_Intel_2.1.23.0_W7x64_A).

When I am trying to install it says:

I have tryed to change power plan from balanced to high perrformance and visa versa.

I have tryed Win 8.1 x64 with latest drivers and Win 7 x32 with Win 7 x64 drivers. Same problem.

Moreover, when stressed CPU-Z do not show frequency >1998Mhz.

My BIOS is v1.13.

Maybe not enogth power? I am using 65W supply. But its temp is normal.

After some time of thinking, I managed to solve this problem.

In fact, some time ago I updated bios to 1.13 when I was using i3-2310m. After that, installed i7 and TB was not working.

So I tryed to update BIOS again to 1.13 when I have i7 and it is working now Smiley Happy

I have no idea, that BIOS is so smart that enables or disables features according to hardware.
