acer aspire vn7-591g-70RT installation m.2 SSD not working
Hello,
I recently wanted to upgrade and add an SSD M.2 to my laptop however it is not reading the drive, i followed lots of installation videos and is doesn't seem to work.
The SSD M.2 i bought is this one: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-SM951-Internal-Solid-MZHPV128HDGM-00000/dp/B00VELD5D8
Is there a compatibility issue maybe or am I missing something?

Hi,
Install HWiNFO64 and check the value for Maximum Link Width for PCI Express Ports, you can find more information in this thread(2nd post). If you have Maximum Link Width readings of 1x and the PCIe version is 2.0, you can only install M.2 SATA SSD and not NVMe SSD. http://community.acer.com/t5/E-F-and-M-Series-Laptops/Acer-Aspire-E5-575-52JF-m-2-nvme-support/td-p/497241
