V5-122P camera stopped working. I Skype and can see them but they can't see me.

My Aspire V5-122P camera stopped working. I use it to Skype. I can see then but they can't see me. I have been unable to find drivers or anyplace to turn it on, etc.

    Have you tried a different chat program to see if it works?

    Have you used the camera in a different application to see if it displays an image?

    I didn't try other chat rooms but I tried some camera test sites and they came back "no webcam found"  so I took it to a computer service store and was told the drivers look fine the camera appears to be dead.  I bought an aftermarket clip on webcam which is working.

    You can access the hidden recovery partition and see if the drivers are listed for the camera. If there are no drivers listed, I would suggest performing a refresh and see if there might be some corrupt files having issues. Has it ever worked?

    Ye the camera worked for about a year. I wouldn't have a clue as to how to access the hidden recovery partition but that may be what the computer tech did when he told me the drivers looked to be there and OK.

    OK, that was a good post. I went to the Acer Resource Center site. WHICH is the camera driver; AMD VGA, clear.f1photo v2.02 ????

    I went and checked our V5-122P we have, the camera driver is not listed in the list of drivers in the recovery partition. I went and checked the driver itself in the Device Manager, it shows as a Microsoft driver. If you right click on the device under imaging devices, choose properties, click the driver tab, is there an option to roll back the driver or update it?
