Sound is terrible but when I lock the pc with sound playing it goes full volume and quality.

My Acer Aspire V5-573G plays sound like its coming from inside a tin can no matter if its from the built in speakers or an external speaker/headphone. But if i lock the pc with the sound playing it kicks in with full volume and quality. This started after i got my second windows 10 upgrade (first got it then did a factory reset because of another issue and installed windows 10 again).

I've tried update-ing all the audio drivers and disabling them and enabling.

Is anyone familiar with this problem?

if your system has Dolby audio, check if it's enabled and try to turn it OFF/ON to check sound changes.

Look at the icons on tray (near clock and date), normally you can open Dolby panel clicking on its little icon. (Double D with blue background).
