Re-occuring horizontal lines problem after repair

I have an Aspire V5-572G-6679. After a little more than a year (shortly after manu warranty ended), it started displaying horizontal lines when open to normal viewing angles. Opening it further made them go away at first. The problem progressed until they were constant. No problem. It's under extended warranty through the seller. I figured sending it in, getting the cable and display replaced would be a quick and simple fix. Well, quick but not so fix. OK for four days.  Fifth day I went to use it after the repair, the lines were back upon start up.

Only change since pre-repair was upgrading from Win 8.1 to Win 10. No problems with the upgrade.

I know the cable and the display were replaced. Actually, I already needed to contact the warranty company because the new display has a scratch.

What I'd appreciate is some advice on what to expect to see done as the repair when I get this laptop back again. I really would like to be on top of this but hardware isn't my area. I just know I don't want to play an endless round robin with going back and forth getting my fastest machine fixed. Much as I love my rock solid dependable old ASUS, it's very slow in comparison.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

If you attach a external monitor and it doesn't have the problem, you still have a bad display.
