I know some variant of this question has been asked but mine is a *bit* different.

My screen cracked, leading me to completely not being able to use the computer, as the mouse would move randomly leaving me with zero control. After hours of effort I was able get extremely lucky and control it just well enough to delete the drivers for the screentouch, leaving everything perfect for a while.

Now I would like to use a different OS I am not familiar with at all, but when I boot that OS the problem starts up again, as the drivers on that OS are fine. I really doubt I will get lucky and be able to delete the drivers again (I don't even know how, as I've never used this OS before and was trying to learn). So my question is:

Can I permanantly get rid of the Touchscreen option through windows somehow. so I will never have to deal with it again at all? I don't see anything in the BIOS.

Thanks!

    Tabuza,

At best, other than deleting them, you can disable the drivers. Deleting them just delays the computer reinstalling them at the notebooks earliest convenience, disabling might be a better option.

On a side note, Acer does have out of warranty repair options to get that screen replaced.
