I recently bought this particular model "only @ Newegg", the VN7-591G-792U (Aspire V Nitro), which seems to be one of the last iteration of the VN7-591G.
It is advertized on both Newegg and Acer websites as containing an IPS screen (cf. http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/model/NX.MUVAA.002).
The result is a poor TN screen with very narrow view angles and color distorsion. Further confirmed by the actual specifications of the monitor embedded: it is a Chi Mei (InnoLux) CMN15D2 (N156HGE-EAL) to be accurate and it is not IPS.
I contacted Acer technical support by chat about this matter and the only advice I got was "to do an exchange in the store so you can take something that is indeep what it says it is. I mean, another acer products with similar specifications".
Well, it doesn't help much. So I would like to know whether other owners of this model have the same problem? or perhaps I suffered from an isolated mistake during the industrial process... which I highly doubt.
Thank you!
