Hello!

It's been six months since I bought this pc, and from the day I bought it , the microphone wouldn't work. Everytime I use headphones (with or without mic on it), the microphone doesn't work anymore.

My acer is a Aspire V5-573G : http://www.notebookcheck.net/Acer-Aspire-V5-573G-54218G1Taii-Notebook-Review-Update.123403.0.html

Thanks for any help,

Dawi

which windows OS version is installed?

have you checked under Recording devices if your integrated mic is listed and set as default?

right click speaker icon, near clock and date

    choose Recording devices

ok, i need some more informations.

Did the internal mic ever worked?

when you connect headphones with mic, does the headphones mic work?

try to update your audio drivers:

First thing is, that my pc doesn't have any entry for an external mic (except if I use an usb adaptor, which I never used). I thought first that the problem was linked to a mic integrated to the headphones, but it isn't. Even if I use headphones without mic, it 's still not working

It always have worked, and it only stops working when headphones are used.

    Thx, I'm downloading it

    yes, i know it.

your laptop has only a plug but this is shared between headphones and mic.

by the way, you must be able to use/select the internal mic even  with headphones that have a mic and a single jack.

try that driver and let me know but it can be also a plug issue, maybe one of the internal leaf is stuck and "shorts" the internal mic.

Apparently, it doesn't work. I tried to check if the mic works when I got the headphones, but still it doesn't work :/
