Matshida BD-ROM not recognizing media inserted
Tinkerer
I have a new (purchased last October) Aspire V 17 Nitro Black Edition running Windows 10. I had been able to use my CD/DVD/BD drive to watch movies and listen to CDs, but it stopped working completely. It is still recognized as a valid drive from This PC, but nothing happens when I insert a BluRay disk -- or any other media format. I've tried reinstalling the driver and even went as far as reformatting my laptop. Nothing is working.

I have the exact same machine and the same problem with my Matshida DVD player. I see on the internet that this is a common problem among Acer laptops after installing Windows 10. I also see no reply to the question above and no answers to others posting this problem on the web. Please help Acer community.

I purchased my unit from Costco. Thankfully, they have Consierge service, so I was able to send it in for repair. Acer offered to repair it ---- for $399!
