In 2013 I purchased an Acer Aspire V3-771G-9823. And since then, wow. This is the worst buying decision I have ever made in my entire life and it cost me $1200.
Since I have purchased it:
- SSD has failed
- Cpu fan has failed
- Half of my keyboard does not work. (NOT FROM WEAR AND TEAR)
- Graphics card never preforms properly. FPS is a guessing game anywhere from 5-60
- Customer support is impossible to reach after warranty expiration. I'm not talking about Technical support. I'm talking about customer support.
Now, I know what you're thinking. Probably something along the lines of "oh this guy must complain about all his purchases" or "he doesn't know anything about technology". Not true. I know a lot about computers in general and normally if something I buy isn't right I suck it up and even avoid returning it.
But with this laptop, and 2 years of incredible and fluctuating levels of frustration I've had enough. Something needs to be done. I paid $1200 for a laptop that can be out preformed with a $30 desktop graphics card and a dual core processor. This is simply not acceptable.
This graphics card... You can never predict when it is going to preform at a playable framerate in video games. Any game, any engine, any graphic driver version, any OS. Tried game booster, adjusting my network, and countless other things.
I want to my complaint heard by someone at Acer and a response. Anything. Until then I will continue to steer EVERYONE I know away from any Acer products forever. Absolutely TERRIBLE. I don't think they should be able to sell a product like this and get away with it.
