Audio headset problems with Aspire VN7-571G-58VR

Dear reader,

I have recently received a new Turtle Beach Earforce x12 and was happy to try it with my new laptop (Aspire VN7-571G-58VR).

But i quickly found out my laptop only has a combined audio port so i needed to buy an adapter. So i went on the internet to look for something that looked like it could work and bought this: http://www.allekabels.nl/na/0/1193117/jack-y-kabel.html (sorry it's in dutch).

After receiving it i tried it out, but the mic was very very very quiet and wasn't working at all. I decided to send the product back and to post my question here. What kind of adapter do i need to buy to make the mic work with this laptop.
