Aspire V7n-592G Audio issue

Hi all, hoping someone has an idea to help out here.

Within the last week the following issue has started:

After a reboot the audio levels are fine. 50% is super loud like it used to be when I first got this laptop. Once I adjust the levels either up or down (via slider, fn+volume, etc) the audio immediatly cuts the sound down like 50%. I could adjust it to 49 and it would be half volume. I can hear almost nothing at volume of say 20. This is for everything from windows sounds to web content to stored content.

Seems to me to be software related. I have the dolby package that came with the OS, and also the Realtek HD software (90% sure it came with the build out as well).

I would think maybe re-installing those or removing them one at a time to see if that was the cause would make sense but I cannot seem to find where I could find them (or look for updates for them).

Anyway any thoughts on what the fix may be or where I can find the software would be appreciated.

Thanks.
