Issue: my laptop is about 4 years old. A few months ago the battery stopped charging and now can only be used on mains power. Battery icon reads 0% plugged in, not charging. Laptop crashes if the mains charger is removed. Otherwise all working ok, running windows 10. Its been fine like this for a while as i only use it at home, but im about to start a Uni course and will need to be mobile and not have it crash every time i unplug!

I've seen *a lot* of posts about other models with this problem and suggest removing the batery to calibrate it, however the battery on this model is internal. There is also mention of "flashing the BIOS" - i have no idea what this means or how to do it or if it will solve the problem?

Please advise whether realistically I just need to get the battery replaced - would this even work?

Many thanks
