There is a Wifi issue with Windows 10. On some laptops,Windows 10 will install the wifi driver it wants, whether it works correctly or not, and won't allow you to change it.

Windows has natively supported exFAT since Windows 7.
SCXC is formatted in exFAT.
Unless you are running XP, it is supported.
You problems with the Wifi adapter make me think you have upgraded to Windows 10.
