Aspire V15 Nitro (VN7-591G-51CY) WiFi Problems?

Hello,

I would like to buy the Aspire V15 Nitro Black Edition (VN7-591G-51CY) with Intel I5, nVidia GTX860M and 8GB RAM. But as I read, some people have problems with WiFi connection. I mean they are being disconnected or the speed is extremely low. Does anyone here have the same problems? Does exist an option, how  to fix this issue? What are your other experiences with this notebook? I am now not sure, if buying this notebook is a right decision, because of this issue (I use WiFi at home, we have many devices using WiFi...).

Thank you,

Fraosius

And did you try to uninstall the reciever drivers and installing new? Because I was talking with Online Support and he told me to do this...

The wifi on my Aspire V15 Nitro works fine.  It connected easily to my home network, as it does to all the local wifi hotspots I frequent.  The transfer speeds are very fast.

ive got the same exact issue with my V15 nitro. everything but nothing helps, super frustarting for a $1500 computer with a sticker that says "up to 2x faster wireless".

Reinstalling drivers does NOT help. My wifi on my phone is literally 10 times faster and better. From the same location i can stream YouTube 720p on my galaxy but cant open a webpage in under 20seconds on the V15!!

. Super frustarted with an otherwise wonderful machine

Your problem may be with your DNS servers.  Try downloading and running Namebench. Here is the website link:

I tried that, it didn't help at all.

My issue is that when I'm within 15ft away from the router, it works pretty well (still about half as fast as my lenovo yoga, but it functions) however, when I am in another room, about 25ft away from the router (netgear n300) the V15nitro cannot load pages at all, the signal shows two bars, but it takes multiple refreshes to open a webpage.

The yoga notebook, and my galaxy phone, are able to stream 1080p videos from the same exact location, so its not a router issue.

If you are having wireless issues I would suggest calling Acer Technical Support and see about having the unit brought in for service for testing to make sure there isn't a hardware issue. Here is the contact number for France, since someone posted they were having issues in France.

There had to have been a huge batch of defective Atheros wifi adapters, same thing here. 5 other wireless devices in the house and all connect with no problem. I bought a usb wifi adapter as a stopgap but will be returning this laptop that I love. Considering giving it another try with the newer wireless a/c models but really do not want the headache probs again.

I contacted Acer support and everything they asked me to do I had already done. Why couldn't they just have used an Intel adapter?

    Hey there,

I had an Intel adapter the first time I returned my laptop with wifiproblems. Then I got a new laptop but with another adapter. Same problem. Now i've brought that one back again and have my third. All seems good now with the intel adapter and it keeps connection. I had to see in an youtube video how to fix this issue. For some it works to puth down the bluetooth and go to the device manager -> then remove the wifi adapter but do NOT MARK (remove all of its components) then refresh. The wifi driver will return. I heard allot of problems got fixed this way. I tried it myself. it works and it keeps connecting.

I hope you will find your help!!

(the laptop is otherwise great on the performance)

Acer Aspire V15 Nitro absolute same problem. Weak Wi-Fi.

I bought from USA and can't send it to acer support can't return the item for now. What to do, how to proceed? I pay 900+ USD for this 2x faster wi-fi but it's really 2x slower wi-fi. My previous laptop was ACER and I said after 6 years of problems with it "never will buy again acer" but look what I did-biggest technical mistake ever bought again Acer. So sorry for my mistake.
    I'm lied by ACER.

I'm waiting for suggestion from official Acer support what to do and how to return the faulty laptop.

This is one solution that I have gone to until they take it back....I tried turning off the bluetooth, i tried uninstalling the wifi without uninstalling the driver and then refreshing for hardware changes. None of that works. Link: http://amzn.com/B008IFXQFU

I only get 65 mbps with this, not the 130mpbs that I get with the wifi adapter inside the laptop that works 14% of the time.

I too experienced the same problem. Well I updated the driver to version 10.0.0.298 from 10.0.0.288, which is the latest on ACER site. The updated version can be found here http://bit.ly/1CTGKXu . There were improvements in Signal strength. Twitch streams are watchable now. Still think its not working to its full potential. Maybe others can run tests and verify. Hopefully this helps someone.

7 years old Fujitsu laptop gets 2,5 time better/faster result in speedtest on the absolute same situation and position than ACER aspire V15 nitro- Black Edition. I've tried 10 time on both laptop. Wi-Fi is worst ever seen in a mobile device. I've tried all the methods.Latest driver in atheros website, change the power save wi-fi settings-non of this worked much.
ACER aspire V15 nitro - Black Edition worth 910 USD

yep, great machine otherwise. an updated model with an a/c wifi card was released on 1/25, waiting for my replacement. I liked it so much thought I'd take the chance on another.
