Aspire V Nitro 15 and VR

A friend has Aspire V Nitro 15 VN7-571G-775Q.
He also bought the Oculus DK2.
He requested me to try and have it work.

I am aware of a few issues;
1. The GPU is below minimum requierments.
2. GPU probably uses Optimus.

As for the solutions;
1. I understand it's impossible to upgrade, as it is part of the motherboard. But I've heard of people running the Oculus with weaker GPUs, so I'll just try to feel the limits of the GPU once I do have the Oculus running.
2. This is the real issue. Installing the software for the Oculus, it says it can not find the display adapter. If I use older software, it installs fine, but the Oculus configuration tool would crash and complain a lot. Is there a way to get rid of that Optimus feature? Be it a hack (I doubt you can tell me how to do it, just tell me if it's possible), or maybe as a service from a lab. Since this laptop is supposed to be used fir VR demos, I don't think he needs the other GPU to work.

Note that naturally I am not going to do any changes, as it is not mine, but I do want to get a feel for solutions.

Thanks in advance.
