Does my laptop have hdmi 2.0? I want to purchase a 120hz monitor and it does not have any display port. It just say hdmi, no version or anything. Thanks

    Hello,

    According to the Acer specifications:

    • Maximum resolution HDMI: 3840×2160, 60 Hz (the refresh rate is always 60Hz).

So even if I use the usb c thunderbolt 3 port (usb-c to displayport) cable to a 120hz monitor the laptop's gtx 1060 will not be able to output 120hz, is that correct? I appreciate the help by the way.

Just an update in case someone will be needing a high refresh rate monitor for gtx 10 series acer laptop. I bought a usbc-dp cable which is maxed at 60hz but able to handle 4k, and on the other hand the hdmi in my laptop seems to be hdmi 2.0 since in handle the monitor's QHD resolution at 144hz. So the gtx 1060 in acer vn7-593g can only output the display through hdmi, the HD graphics through the thunderbolt usb-c. I hope this will be helpful in the future since no one gave me an exact answer. Thanks
