Hi,

My problem here is when I plug in my earbuds with a built in mic on it, it just doesnt work. I tried the earbuds on other devices and it works fine. When I try to talk to my friends with the earbuds connected it just uses the built in mic on the laptop which isn't good for speaking. I looked and it doesnt even recognize there is another mic present, only shows the built in laptop mic, http://prntscr.com/bfbn6q .

What i've tried:
-Uninstall and reinstall drivers.

-Restart PC

-Disabling the built in laptop mic.
Any help is appreciated, just wanna talk to some friends.

    Hi,

Do you have a combo 3.5 mm jack for microphone and audio?

If yes, normally when you plugin something realtek should ask you what did you plugged in. Probably it is set to headset (combo microphone and headphones) thus it automatically disables the built in microphone. Probably you disabled somehow this popup so it does not ask anymore when you plugin something. I think you should find realtek control panel and re-enable the pop-up question when you plugin something.
