Hackers can gain root level access to your computer this way and there is no way to prevent that by software or sandboxes. Only way is to block all javascript or use ECC memory for DDR3. DDR4 memory is not affected.

For now the researchers used javascript but hackers might find other ways to exploit this.

Are Acer Aspire VN7-591/791 notebooks vunerable to the Rowhammer DDR3 javascript exploit or do they support ECC Memory?
