I have an Acer Aspire V5-473PG and I have to say the laptop is pretty bad quality-wise. I discovered the bottom cover was falling apart about a month after the warranty expired, with several of the plastic components breaking apart, rendering useless half the screws that connect the bottom cover to the laptop, so I had to hold the whole thing together with sticky tape. I called Acer for the part and turns out they charge $70 for that plastic piece of **** and since they don't sell parts, theres another $80 cost for labour, which is $150 I am NOT willing to shell out.
Also, my hard drive just had a mechanical failure for no reason yesterday, but not too big of an issue since I backed up the important data. Very disappointed with Acer and their service. I'm going to buy a SSD now and also purchase a new bottom cover from a third party site.
Anyone else has the same issues with the bottom cover and HDD for the V5 series?
