I currently have a Acer Aspire V3 Laptop that runs on the most current version of Windows 8. Ran perfectly fine last night without any kind of problems. Went to get on it this morning and the power button won't respond. When it is plugged in, the LED light shows that it's charging, but when I try to turn it on, the power button doesn't respond. Every few presses, the power button lights up for a split second, then turns off. The screen never responds to the power button being on for a split second. Please help because I need to use this very soon.

    "Every few presses..."

Try just one momentary press. Hold it down a bit, then let go.

I've tried holding the power button for longer than just a brief press before, as in 10-20 sec., and nothing still happens.

--Remove all external and non-essential hardware and disks connected to the computer.
--Remove all extension cables between the computer and the outlet.
--Unit fan airways are free of obstructions.
--Remove the battery and wait three minutes.

Make sure the power cable is properly connected to the computer and the electrical
outlet. Check without and with surge protector in service as this could be the issue.
