Virtualization on V7-482PG

I am trying to run VMWare on my Aspire V7 and VMware just locks up when trying to start a machine, with the log file showing "Win32 exception detected, exceptionCode 0xc0000005 (access violation)".

I've tried several things, including reinstalling, compatability modes, changing VM settings, etc... But if I put it on another Windows 8.1 computer, it works fine, leading me to believe it's related to this computer specifically.

The BIOS has no options for enabling virtualization. I also can't find any settings related to the SSD caching, and I'm wondering if that might be causing issues for VMware.

Has anyone else been able to get VMware to work on this computer?
