i didnt test the latest ones yet, so i might actually run into the same issue. try 340.43 or 337.88 instead. also make sure to use the string provided on your system. it may differ from mine!

Yeah, I'll try to get my hands on the same version of drivers as you have, since that's still way newer than the ones Acer provides. And yes, I did use my own string.

if it still wont work with that version (you can find it on guru3d.com), paste your string and ill mod the inf for you, just to make sure ![]()

Still having the same problem, even with 340.43. Here are my modifications:
[NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.6.3]
%NVIDIA_DEV.1391.22CB.1043% = Section310, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_1391&SUBSYS_079B1025 (I have the same HW ID)
and
[Strings]
NVIDIA_DEV.1391.22CB.1043 = "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M - MODDED"

You have to disable driver signature enforcement!
Then try this:
1) open nvami.inf in notepad
2) replace all SUBSYS_22CA1043 with SUBSYS_079B1025
3) replace all 22CA with 22CB
4) save and run setup.exe

It worked! But when disabling driver signature enforcement, it only disables it until the next restart right? And will Optimus still work?

Hello,
I have same exact problem but I just can't figure it out. I solved the part which installer says the it couldn't found compatible hardware. During the instalation, it fails with no error meesagges but its canceled that PhysX, GeForce Exp and driver 340.52 wasn't installed.
This is what appears in my HW ID i tried it with 1st and 2nd lines, whole thing in this topic. Nothing work.
I also changed all 222CA to 22CB but nothing works. Can I ask someone to edit and upload that nvami file which will works for me? Iam trying to instal 340.52 drivers. Thanks alot

You have to disable driver signature enforcement. Look it up on Google.

didnt have to do it on win7, but apparently, win8 is even more strict about this... dunno why acer so so behind on properly providing drivers for the products. when i asked them about usable drivers on win7, they just told me, win7 isnt supported. yeah right. bull**bleep** support.
