Hi all,
I am a new owner of an Acer Aspire V5-552PG-X469 ... very very happy so far. Comes with the new(est) Richland-series AMD A10-5757M , Radeon HD 8750M graphics, etc.
I am seriously considering replacing the hard disk drive and upgrading to a Solid State Drive. I have noticed that this hard drive ROARS with sound , normally I would not care but this the loudest I have ever encountered. Further, my Windows Experience Index score is fairly low because the HDD score is the lowest score.
I have read a SSD is the best option to upgrade my laptop and for around $200 give or take, I can put a decent to very good, 250/256GB SSD in here. (And then I would keep the 1TB Western Digital HDD as an extra , external storage drive).
Can anyone give me some pointers on how to do this? I did not get any disks in the box because, this Acer is an Ultra Thin, I can't even use a CD/DVD. If I were to install a SSD how could I get the Windows OS on the SSD?
(I *do* have a 1TB WD PassPort, could I simply "back up" my current system and restore it somehow?)
Ok thanks much.
