Bascially, as well as having the battery and screw issue, i.e laptop won't run on battery power, I have been trying to install all the recommended updates that Windows finds. Windows 8.1 is already installed.  Everytime it gets near the end, i.e. 100% and then hs to rewind which takes about 45mins to an hour. I have no idea if this is an Acer issue or Windows issue. I haven't been able to find anyting about it anywhere. Any help or suggestions would be gratefully received.

I strongly recon you to go back to Win 8 ! I've done it .. I had issues with my iconia w700p tablet when upgraded then I had issues when upgraded this one V7 .. now both running Win 8 and it is all perfect ... 8.1 is way buggy
