I have the Aspire V5. Considering this is a laptop with a physical keyboard permanently attached, I have no need for the touch screen keyboard. Is there anyway to turn it off or remove it? It gets in the way when it pops up because I have touched a text box on the screen...

Try this:
Open the Control Panel.
Go to Ease of Access
Go to Ease of Access Center
Click on Use the Computer without a Mouse or Keyboard
Make sure that the box next to "Use Onscreen Keyboard" is unchecked.
Click Save.
The Onscreen Keyboard should no longer start with Windows (you may need to restart for this to take effect).

I am having the same issue as the OP and am also running Windows 8 (64 bit) on an Aspire V5-571P. I seem to already have that box unchecked. Somehow, no matter how many times I disable the Touch Keyboard toolbar, it keeps reappearing each time I restart my laptop and I can only assume that the Touch Keyboard is still running on startup. Any thoughts?
Cheers!

I have the V5. I don't have any use for the touchscreen, so I have disabled the driver for that function, but every time I reboot, the Touch Keyboard Toolbar is there. I always need to right click it to get rid of it. Not the end of the world, but it is annoying. I want this Toolbar permanently disabled. That appears to be what everyone else here is looking for. Any input is appreciated.
Thanks!

I am having the same issue, if someone could please help with disabling the onscreen keyboard that would be great. I just noticed it started popping up on my login screen. Very annoying since I don't ever use it.

Thank you for finding a solution to a very annoying issue. I *never* would have come up with that on my own!
