As the one who originally asked about this topic, I'm not sure if I understand your problem.
What I could understand is: if your computer runs, don't touch the BIOS. You won't gain anything from changing it.
Or your problem is that you can't "downgrade" to Windows 7? You should be able to do that.

Just to make it clear: BIOS updates are usually released because the older BIOS was not capable of something (like booting from some new device), but upgrading BIOS does not increase performance (drivers are the ones that may increase performance when upgraded). So you never need to upgrade, downgrade or even touch your BIOS unless you have a very specific need to do so (like the new BIOS does something you need).
So, in general, if your computer boots fine, there's usually no need to touch the BIOS. Everything after boot is drivers, OS and applications.
