Fail Load BCD error after doing a full recovery

Hello,

My Acer S3 suffered a completed HDD failure, so I replaced the HDD with a 250GB SDD.

I obtained the 5 recovery CDs from Acer and booted the Recovery SW from an external CD Drive.

I selected the full system recovery option and fed it each of the 5 CDs as prompted.

At the very end of the process the system hung with message: "Fail Load BCD" (or similar).

I have tried to boot from SDD using both mode: Legacy BIOS and UEFI modes and always get the message: "No Bootable Device"

If I boot to the Recovery Disc using Legacy BIOS, I get the message: Please reboot this CD using UEFI mode

If I boot to the Recovery Disc using UEFI Mode I get the message: Please reboot this CD using Legacy BIOS

Therefore I can't even re-run the Recovery process.

The BIOS screens and the F12 boot menu both recognize the SSD hardware as "TOSHIBA THNSNJ256GCST"

I'd sure be grateful for any ideas
