Thanks!
Same here.
Try airplane mode, uninstall and reinstall older drivers, then update only wifi (in driver update, not clicking in setup.exe).

I tried that, didn't work. Sigh...
I guess my leisure activity for the next couple of days will be writing reviews for this laptop on as many websites as I can find ![]()
EDIT: I FIXED IT!
This is what I did: (Windows 8)
1) Install 10.0.0.234 combo update
2) Bluetooth not working, device not even visible in device manager, scanning for hardware changes doesn't bring it back.
3) Attempt multiple combinations of uninstalling/reinstalling with older driver versions and WiFi/BT only components
4) Can't bring Bluetooth back
5) ![]()
6) In desperation, turn to Windows for help
7) Open control panel
8) Type in "devices" in search bar
9) In the results, under "Troubleshooting" select "Find and fix problems with device"
It found the Bluetooth adapter after this. Still upset with Acer. Hope this helps someone.

After de-installing older drivers (mind you: you loose all your WiFi passwords!!), I have installed now: 10.0.0.234 -- but the problem (losing the connection) still occurs quite regularly -- in particular when the machine is running on batteries. It is better than it was, but still not solved...

Hi,
Cant beleive this forum has been going for over a year and its not been solved done and dusted by Acer.
I bought my Aspire V5 yesterday. Lovely machine. Noticed its dropping wireless every 15 monutes or so. I have other devices that aren't.
I have just tried to update the wire less driver hoping it will find a new one to solve the problem, but it tells me I already have the latest.
Should I take back to store? or is there a 100% guranteed easy fix?

Great! This solved another problem for me: I had lost my camera, but running this troubleshooting was fixed this way!
had been working on this for a week...!

**POSSIBLE FIX**
Just thoughtI'd let everyone know what helped me out. I was able to simply reset my BIOS. To do this, turn your computer off. Turn it back on and press F2 repeatedly until you enter the BIOS screen. When you get here, press F9 and you will be prompted to reset your BIOS to the original settings, press enter for yes. After this press F10 and you will be prompted to save your BIOS settings. Press enter again for yes and then the computer will boot up as normal. I did this once and everything resumed normal working order.

Acer has released Atheros driver v 10.0.0.234, to resolve issues with the wireless connectivity. If you are experiencing wireless connectivity issues, please follow the steps below to install the latest driver. Once you have loaded the latest driver, we would like to hear your feedback on how the new driver is performing.
1. It is recommended you completely recover your system to make sure there is nothing installed that may cause disconnects. Use eRecovery to reload your operating system.
2. Visit http://www.acer.com, then click Support, then select Drivers and Manuals.
3. Enter your model name, and select your product from the list of suggested models.
4. Choose your Operating System from the pop up menu, and click Confirm.
5. On the next page, click on the Drivers tab. Wireless LAN Driver.
6. Click Save and select where you want to download the file.
7. Open the zip file and click the setup.exe file.
8. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the driver installation.
You can also find instructions on how to install the driver from our FAQ. https://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/

@acer
Two questions:
1. I am being offered .234 via your live updater. Will that work just as well?
2. What are the effects of the full restore on user-installed software, customization, windows updates and data?
Thank you,
rjv

{Edited to better answer the original question] Yes, the driver being offered on the Acer Live Updater is same driver you would download from our drivers and downloads.
We recommend the restore to ensure that settings or other applications are not causing conflicts. While it is not a necessity, it is the safest path to resolving this issue. The restore will erase data from your HDD, it always recommended to backup your personal data and applications before performing these steps.
