I also have the wifi connectivity issues and after looking at various forums I wonder if I can return my Aspire V5 to the store and get my mony back. It looks like the produt is not fit for purpose as it was sold as having wifi capability.

I solved my Aspire V5 wifi problem by purchasing a $14 Buffalo wireless usb plug. I had to download new drivers from Buffalo but it works just fine and I have the built in wifi on the acer disabled. I use a blutooth mouse so I did not want to try disabling bluetooth. It does take up one of the USB ports but I consider that a necessary evil.

Connectivity problems. First V5 was sent back due to Connectivity proms. New one arrived and it was better. Hard enough to use this goofy format Windows 8 without this extra set of issues. However, at times I still experienced the connectivity issue. So I read the above letters. Guy before this letter wrote about Blue tooth interference. I took off my wireless mouse (using blue tooth) and so far it is staying connected.
Sucks that there is an issue, but I see two choices. Send it back, or live with a wire connected mouse.
This is my 3rd Acer and I have really liked the acer products in the past - So.. I am working the issue for a few more days while I can still return it if I wish.

Hello
My first Acer bought on Friday 7th May and thinking about putting it back today because of this connectivity issue. I spent all weekend trying to get around the problem, tried a few different routers to no avail. Was at the point of wrapping it up when I had a brainwave.
I realised the problem was with wireless N. Changed router to a wirelss G router and hey presto, connecting everytime, first time and in seconds.
Wireless N routers I tried were:
Huawei - Talk Talk
Netgear DGN 1000
And the winner
Linksys 54G
Will Acer sort this or should I get my money back?
PS driver is .225, is there a newer one?
Thanks

Hello again
Just to confirm, did some more tests last night and can confirm that if you change any N class router to wireless G only, the connectivity problem is solved.
So come on Acer, all you need is a compatible N class driver to sort this issue. When I spoke to tech support yesterday, the agent siad he would cascade this information to the the other tech staff so I seem to have done part of the solution for you.
All the best

This is not working for me. I have another laptop running and check it every time my V5 loses connection. Other laptop never lost connection
I have Change power settings in device manager and in the power plans
No bluetooth
Downloaded(on another laptop) drivers .225. worked for a while.
Refreshed system and made problem worst. Now it says things like "can't connect to network" or that i can "access some websites" and running troubleshooter says that comuper has " manually disconnected from network"
Router is a G
Still losing connection every 20-30 minutes.

Hello, I am not an expert just an interested home user but the solution I found worked with the laptop and 4 different routers so I was confident that I had part of the problem sorted and for me it has. Connection is rock solid.
In the device manager, I have switched off "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"
Failing that, why not spend a few pounds and get a USB wirelsss dongle, not ideal but will be a solution until Acer get this sorted. They obviously don't spend any time on their support forums.
On further thinking there is always the possibility your router is faulty.
If it wasnt for the fact my wife liked the laptop it would have been back but hey ho.

I would like to blame the router but i tested other devices ( phone, tablet, Laptops) they work fine. In fact my old laptop is an acer also and it works wonderfully.
