Hello,

I have purchased this laptop today but when I use Fn + F9, the backlit isn't working. The laptop is running windows 8.1 and windows update says the laptop is up to date. Is this a software related issue or a hardware related issue?

Are you refering to the display screen backlight or the keyboard backlight?

As per specification details for this model you need to use Fn + F6 to turn the display screen backlight ON and OFF.

The Fn+ F9 key if for keyboard backlight.

You may try installing the new updated version of Launch manager application V 8.00.8105 Launch Manager App
