Hi , I just got my new laptop for Christmas and everything was fine until I installed windows 8.1, ever since then my computer started disconnecting from the Wi-Fi when all my other devices were connecting. I have tried changing the driver, unchecking 'allow windows to turn this off to save power' and when I try and install a new driver it just brings me to a file that I don't have a clue what to do with. Im not sure if this is a hardware problem (in which case I will take it back to the store I bought it from) or a software compatibility problem. Either way please help, it's so annoying not being able to access the internet without an Ethernet cable !

To determine if the problem is hardware related, you can try recovering your system to Windows 8. If the problem still exists in Windows 8, then it would be a hardware problem. If reloading Windows 8 fixes the issue, then you can try installing the Windows 8.1 drivers for your system, then updating the system to Windows 8.1.
