Hello All,

Here are the details.  I am able to open the Launch Manager (Fn+F3) and turn on wifi, but it doen't actualy turn on wifi.  I see a red X over the internet bars in the system tray - bottem righ corner. I am able to connect to the internet via LAN cable.

Nothing seems to be happneing when I use the manual wifi slider/butten on the front, bottom right of the lapttop. It usually lights up an orange LED when used, but nothing is happening when I slide it.

I have used both these metheds to turn on/off the wifi over the last year with out any issues.  I haven't preformed updates or installed software before/after having this issue - other than to update the wireless drivers.

I'm running Win7 on an Acer Travelmate P643-M.

Any thoughts or tests I can run?

THANKS so much,

Jay

Find your Travelmate here and choose the32 or 64.

Download the latest driver for Launch Manager and your wifi.

Uninstall the wifi driver in Add and Remove, reboot and reinstall it.

If you then have wifi and you can turn it on/off in Fn+F3, you're done.

You can also do the same for Launch Manager.

    See how this does.
