How can I flash the BIOS on my Acer TravelMate P273-MG-6608 from a USB drive?

My only working computer is a Ubuntu server.

It appears that the BIOS is corrupted, as when I power on the laptop, I cannot get into the BIOS anymore.

    CdnGuy,

I would download the BIOS from our site, put it on the USB stick, set the USB stick to boot first, and then see if you can execute the file on it.

The SOP for the file just says execute the file, nothing really more than that to run it.

    Good answer.

I can't execute the BIOS package from outside of at least DOS. If a person can get their Windows Recovery or Install disk going and Alt-F10 into the command prompt, it can be run from there.

However, that wasn't my issue after all. Apparently I am the issue.

In haste, I misinterpreted my HDD diagnostics and missed the fact that the HDD has failed and needs to be replaced.

That's the real answer to my issue overall.

Still, thank you very much for taking the time to respond. Excellent!

    CdnGuy,

I wish it just was a BIOS updated needed and not a piece of hardware that needs replacing honestly. If you didn't create your recovery media you can do a search for it on our Acer Store website for purchase.
