Ineed help with my Acer Aspire R7 touch-screen functioning.

Its regrding the touchscreen function of my Acer Aspire R7 laptop. I am having trouble with using the rught click on my touch laptop. As we very often need right mouse click in windows, we press the touchscreen for a little longer time than a normal click, and we get the pop up for right mouse click menus. (like new, refresh sort etc. etc.)

When I am using it in tablet mode or in toucscreen desktop mode, I usually prefer to keep the touchpad unaccessible. every now and then the press and hold for right mouse click sti\ops working.

So far I have observed following situations and tried applying a few fixes. I am not a computer person.

    1. I observed it when I used my logiteech keyboard and mouse / keyboard only / mouse only. I am using unifying software - (Fix - I stopped using all of them)

    2. When I start the laptop, it works fine for a while and after some time just stops randomly - (Fix - Turn off the laptop and start it again after some time)

    3. Even after restarting the laptop, this function may not come back.

Other steps I have already tried.

Changing the pen and touch settings, touch calibration  - several times, touch calibration really makes it worse.

Resetting the laptop to restore points and even factory restores- Many times.

Waiting until it get upgraded to windows 8.1 - Many times (almost every time I resetted to the factory defaults.)

Disabling and uninstalling the display drivers - Many times.

Frustating thing is it just stops working unpredictably.. you can never tell when it will stop working.

Most of the time it stops workign if the laptop is running for a while.

Links to youtube demo.  - Both videos of not working shows right clicking (press and hold)

The video in which it works, shows right click when worked and other left clicks done randomly to show screen sensitivity.

MOdel # - Acer Aspire R7 571 - Nothing changed except RAM upgraded to 8 gb.

I woud really appriciate if you can suggest something.

    mahdeo,

Nice troubleshooting, first of all. I think you've pretty much ruled out that it could possibly be software and could very well be that there is a hardware issue with the touchpad itself, or the motherboard.

Do you think changing the digitizer might resolve this issue?

Someone has also suggested touchpad drivers. Lets see howit works.

    mahdeo,

You could try and see if the touchpad drivers would resolve it.

Finally found the problem and solution. It was simply the powar adapter issue. The guy who sold me on ebay included cheap replavement adapter. Everytime I use this adapter, after some time press and hold function as well as touchscreen sensitivity was lost. I am using the better replacement adapter now and it looks like it is working well so far..

Thanks to all who thpught about it and made suggestions.
