Acer Aspire R7-572g Touch screen suddenly stopped working - HID TouchScreen is literally missing

Have anybody encounter this problem with latest update? Now my touchscreen just wont work like it used to. Smiley Tongue

 

I've double check the HID TouchScreen is literally missing from the HID Tree. o.O

    If the issue did not occur until after the update I would perform a system restore to before the update and go forward from there, it could just be a bad install.

    Thanks for the tip, but after a some time googling around I noticed this is a common problem among the touchscreen laptops. Apparently it's something to do with the power management and somehow the touchscreen component is still at the state of sleep mode thus, rendering it inactive.

     

    I noticed there's a single USB Device inside the Human Interface Device under device manager. I figured it might be the missing inactivate touch screen component. 

     

    So what I did was, I set the power management settings to off and close the lid after that (to somewhat reset the sleep state). After restart everything was ok. Smiley Wink

     

    I blogged about the detailed steps here just in case anyone ran into same trouble.
