Travelmate 8200 Opensuse 13.1 KDE and Gnome not loading kernel completely

Hi folks,

I have tried several attempts to get opensuse 13.1 running on my 8200 Travelmate.

Even the live versions of Gnome and KDE do not work. They are stuck after loading the kernel ...

I nnly get to see the screen with the chameleon but nothing after that... it does not accept any input or mouse or other...

I tried the same on my old noname desktop and everything works just fine.

Any ideas? Did anyone get this ever up and running on a Travelmate 8200?

Thanks in advance for any help or pointing me towards some solution.

Alexander

Go into your BIOS menu and see if there is an option for legacy devices and if there is enable it. Some BIOSes are picky with Linux and will report the wrong hardware information to the OS.

A quick fix would be to use a USB mouse and keyboard if anything at all.
