New install

Went into Internet Explorer. Opened a website.....now there is no way to close it out....no X, no back symbol.

Re loaded Explorer; but now it asks me which version I have on my ACER. It was already installed. There are four options; XP, 64 bit for client/server, Server 2003 IA64 or Server SP1 or 2003 SP2

Joel, you need to provide a computer model along with the operating system.

Is it a retail load or the factory install from Recovery?
