Acer V7 instable after some time... can anyone help?

Hi,

have a new Acer V7 updated to Windows 8.1

before and after the update the system seems to become unstable and starts opening windows and jumping from one window to another losing control.

Cheked for viruses but none found.

Another symptom is gray circles keep poppig up of different sizes like the processor being in overdrive.

There is no other way than restarting the pc to get back to normal life

Any idea what it is and how to solve?

thanks

Hi pysb

If your laptop was unstable before upgrading to 8.1, then backup your data & reinstall Windows from your recovery partition. Monitor your laptop for a while to see if the problems persist.

If they still persist, then you may have an hardware issue. Contact Acer support for your region for help.

If you have a digital camera/smartphone, record the problems happening - you can then include this video in an email, so that support can see the problem.

Let us know how you get on!

Re: Acer V7 instable after some time... can anyone help?

Thanks for the fast reply. Problem started with Windows 8 and  before update. Hoped it would "go away"  with the updates. Don't understand why reinstalling windows from recovery partition should work.

Am travelling a lot and problem not yet solved. Had it today once again. Will record it next time and send it in to support. Am seriously worried as I will not be in my home country for at least three moths and really need the laptop.

But am amazed how many people are so kind to help others out. Thanks for that!

Hi psyb

Reinstalling Windows resets everything from scratch. Many problems can be resolved by doing this.

However, if it is an hardware fault, then you're right - it won't make any difference!

Acer support should still be able to help, even though you're not in your home country.

Good luck, and let us know how you get on!
