Hi everybody,

I recently bought a E700, great phone. Execpt, I have a Wifi issue.

Last week I got a replacement phone, but still the same problem.

I connect to my network, no problem. I surf the web, listen to Spotify, all grat. But after a random amound of time the connectrion is lost. Browser and apps say that there is no internet.

Strange thing is that my wifi is connected and I see data transferring.

The only thing that works is shut Wifi off and on again manually and it works again.

After sleep (when wifi is off) and I wake the phone up, wifi also works.

What I tried:

- Factory reset

- Static Ip

- Shut off wifi optimalisation

- Rename Wifi direct device

- Wifi repair and connection apps.

Who can help me sort this bug out :-).

Cheers,

Henk

it looks like a bug on the E700 wifi driver.

i don't know if any update is already available.

EDIT: maybe you can try to switch off the "wifi optimisation", it's about battery consumption, but maybe the energy saver profile is too aggressive.

the option, at least on my device, is:

    system settings/ wifi

on the bottom right there are 3 dots, tap it /advanced/ Wifi optimisation

    Thanks for your help,

I am running om 4.4.2. After I had my phone for 1 day, I got a system update. Before the update and after the update, same problem.

The update did nog change de android version so I think it was an Acer update, but no avail.

    Any more ideas ;-)?

    Thanks again :-)

I already tried that option, no luck.

Do you know if there is another way to acces wifi settings, maybe on a deeper level? I agree that it has to do with power settings of the Wifi...

I Isoleted the problem. It only happens on N-only Wifi. When on a mixed signal (b/g/n) no problems.

    Acer, please fix this bug...

You are right. I forgot to post but after a few day's the problem came back.

    So no solution yet.

The WIFI also takes a long time to get an IP adress.... So Acer, please fix the WIFI. It is full with bugs....

And then phone start to reconnect to network, verifying it, connecting, verifying, connecting.....

Then I turn wifi off and immediately on and t is ok for half of hour.

And then it starts to happened again....

Otherwise phone itself is perfect, also comparing to previous xperia z1...

Here it is still working! No problems anymore. But it shouldn't be necessary to change the setts of the router! So acer solve this!

i tested my father E700 on wifi under 2.4ghz and even if i haven't any drop, the overall signal strength was at minimum.

on other acer smartphones i have the signal was at 100% strength since the router was at 15 meters.

    something to report for sure.
