I recently suffered a crash and was unable to locate my "reboot" USB so I ordered one from Acer.  It arrived yesterday and we got windows back up on my computer.  I am unable to connect to my home wireless network or even my hotspotted phone.  Upon further investigation i noticed that my wireless network adapter is missing.  I have looked up my system within Acer driver downloads and downloaded what it listed and its still not working.  What am I missing??  I thank you in advance for your help!!

There's several things you can try.

    Suggestion A. Reset the battery.

Suggestion B. Update the BIOS.  After the BIOS update is complete, restart your computer.  If that doesn't fix it, you can access the UEFI/BIOS settings and load the BIOS defaults F9 and then save/exit F10.

Suggestion C.  Backup your important personal files and try to use your Acer recovery media again.  Except this time, wipe your drive first.

To wipe your hard drive, follow these steps:

    1. Press and hold the Shift key and restart your computer

    2. Click troubleshoot

    3. Click advanced

    4. Click command prompt

    5. Select your account

    6. Enter your password

    7. Use diskpart clean to wipe your hard drive. Diskpart clean works on both hard drives and solid state drives.  Be sure to select the correct drive (disk).  It will probably be disk 0, but be careful.

    8. After you use diskpart clean to wipe your drive, turn off your computer by pressing and holding the power button on your computer until it shuts down.

    9. Insert your Acer Recovery Media, and then turn on your computer and use Acer's Recovery Media instructions to restore your PC to factory condition.  I've never used Acer Recovery Media, so you'll have to call Acer if you don't know what to do here.

Suggestion D. Purchase and install the wireless/bluetooth adapter below. Acer uses the adapter below on some R3-471Ts.

Or just look in Device Manager and see if there is an unknown device or one with a problem. To me reinstalling everything is a last resort.

When you use your factory Acer Recovery Media, everything should go smoothly and your PC should be restored to factory condition without incident.  Since you are missing a device, it raises a major red flag that something didn't go right.  Now would be the time to start completely over and retry in my opinion.

If everything else is working properly then the troubleshooting should be of the device and not "everything" just to find the same error.

I'd probably start with Run>Msinfo32>Components (on left) >Network My R3 has an entry with Name ... Intel(r) Dual Band Wireless - AC 3165 and a lot of other information.

Do you have anything like that ?

If not, look for either a device under Network Adapters or an "unknown" device in Control Panel>Device Manager.

    Let's start there.
