Hi. I bought a new Aspire R14 a few days ago and it is an awesome computer. I already love the thing. It is really a brilliant device and a great value with the latest Intel processor and a solid state hard drive.
One thing that I would like to change however is to have the keyboard backlight not reset to off every time I close the lid. I like the fact that the keyboard goes dark if I don't press a key for a bit and then lights back up when I do press something. That functionality turns off, however, when you close the laptop lid and then you have to re-enable it with a press of function-F10. It would be great if the auto on with a keystroke was always enabled. People could just turn it down if they don't want the backlight.
Actually, I would love it if the keyboard would just stay lit up all the time and I could turn it down/off when I want. I realize this might make a small drain on the battery but I think it is a reasonable tradeoff for the increased usability. From what I have read, this may have been the default setting in the past. It would be pretty cool if there was a setting to allow people to choose how this function operated.
Thanks for your consideration. Again, great computer and I really could not be any more excited about my purchase!
