I have an Aspire 5749 that cannot find it's webcam.  I've tried disabling both USB Root hubs & rebooting, but no luck- it still tells me the webcam is not installed.  Any suggestions?

Try using System Restore to go back to a date when the webcam was working.

If this still soesn't work, you could try reinstalling Windows - perhaps a little drastic, but it may well solve the problem. Just make sure you back up everything first!

If after that, it's still refusing to play nicely, then we can assume that the camera itself has failed - or perhaps a cable/connection has worked loose. A visit to your local PC store, would hopefully remedy this!
