laptop got water spilled on it, and now it wont even post. Anyone know whats the problem

Don't turn it on. Leave it off. Let it dry out, either by time in a warm place, or dismantle it, and air dry the keyboard parts and board. Make sure it's all dried out before turning it on again. Good Luck.

I let it dry for a week before i turned it on but no go. My problem is that it was on when the spill occured, and by the time i got home there were no lights. I immediately unplugged the power cord and took out the battery and let it dry for a week. There is power but nothing happening when i power up. Im afraid the motherboard may be fried. Any suggestions to what may be the problem?

Yes, your diagnosis is likely accurate. I have broken down a system such as you are witnessing. Sometimes you can see the water trail within the keyboard membrane, but you're likely into the board as well. The water trail on the board will be the burnt area of note. If luck it crossed an easy short and one resister will be found bad. But the components are so small as to make solder repair an impossibility. It's however, interesting to look at the board anyway. Clean the keyboard contacts and decide if you want to gamble a board change cost, with Windows10 so close to store-shelf. Your call.
