Can't install the win 7 drivers not even changing compatibility to win 7 ... I think we hv fought hard ... Let's call this a close ...

I just found out this ... Astonishingly the usb 3.0 drivers seem to work correctly everytime .. This works only if I turn off the cold booting .. So everytime the computer starts as it used to in Win 7 .. The bad thing is that the startup isn't fast , but then again the good things are that the usb 3.0 is working fine and I can enter bios everytime the pc starts .. So , the startup is something I can overlook ...

Can you give us a guesstimate on Win8 v Win7 startup times on your system?

The thing is that I don't wanna dual boot right now ... I can give you the approx times of win8 on my lappy and win7 on my another laptop ... The thing is that mine had 2x2GB RAM @ 1333MHz and the other laptop has 1x4GB RAM @ 1600MHz ...

Ok , so I counted the number of seconds from pushing the power button to the login screen ... Win7 -- 26 seconds , Win8 -- 30 seconds ... I have almost same number of processes on startup .. Both have ths same CPU ...

I don't blame you. But what I really meant was just your gut feel on how fast the p243m starts now vs before.

PS:  Consider virtuals if you're ever tempted to multi-boot. I'm quite satisfied with running 2 earlier Windows versions and a SuSE distro as VMWare virtuals on my system.
