I have acer aspire v3 -571g
sometimes when I'm on my bed/couch I put it on my legs or so, so its not resting in a normal situation like on a table. It suddenly freezes ! I've figured out that applying pressure on the middle makes it continue working again normally and as soon as I remove the pressure it freezes again.
whats broken inside ?! I never dropped it. Laptop is still new !!


By the way, the latest  synaptics driver (v17.0.6.13) for windows 8.1 is bad. dragging function doesn't work properly. it doesnt respond immediately when you double click to drag. You have to keep trying 3 or 4 times till it works. But if you enable the lock drag option it responds normally.
Please check it again.

I have the exact same problem with my touchpad driver. EXACT same problem. I just updated my driver today actually, it was acting up and i realized i was like 6 versions behind. Little did i know this new driver 17.0.6.13 barely works. I really wish i would've known beforehand, but you are literally the only other person in the world who cares enough to post about it. Idk what the proper course of action is to remedy this. Idk what the deal is with your laptop freezing though, that's weird..
