when I turn my Acer ASpire E1-410 it goes through the start up but only gets as far as the Linpus Linux setup.

the last line it gets to says[root@localhost / 1#_   and after about 15 minutes shuts down. I try again and it does the same

can anyone help?

yes it is Acer installed.

What I ended up doing was taking it back to where I bought it and they gave me another one. I then took the 2nd computer to a technician and they sorted it out for me.

Good move! Thanks for reporting back. I assume the 2nd computer didn't respond the same way as the 1st. Did your technician offer any clues on what happened before?
